Descriptions of each coffee contained in this sample pack:

Ethiopian Heirloom (Light-Medium Roast)

This coffee is from the Guji Zone of Ethiopia. The coffees from Guji are wonderfully floral, sweet, and full of complex flavors. This new 2021 lot of Uraga is no exception. The coffees from this lot were grown in the forests surrounding Yabitu Koba, Larcho Torka, and Layo Teraga. The Kerchanshe washing station where our coffee is processed began over 15 years ago and now comprises 350 raised beds, supporting 1900 farmers and their crops each season.

Costa Rica Naranjo Reserve (Light-Medium Roast)

Danilo Salazar has been farming coffee for over fifty years in Llano Bonito, Naranjo. He grows not only coffee on his 17 hectares of land, but also bananas, plantains, and peaches. Danilo is a member of Cafe de Altura de San Ramon, an organization founded in 2004 to process coffee throughout Costa Rica. The association works hard to provide its more than 500 producers with the knowledge and resources they need to sell their coffee for the premiums it deserves. Since coffee in Costa Rica isn’t fully washed, a measure taken to conserve freshwater, there is a bit more fruit in the cup, especially in this unique coffee.

Guatemalan, Huehuetenango (Medium Roast)

Father and son Arturo and Vielmann Villatoro formed Finca Los Angeles in 1980, and their coffee is grown on 98 out of the 120 hectares that encompass the farm. Their land is covered in shade trees to protect the Bourbon and Caturra plants below.

Colombia Huila (Light-Medium Roast)

This micro-lot coffee is from the Huila region of Colombia. Specifically, these beans come from the community of Las Mercedes, where a group of small coffee farmers pool their beans for export. Grown at over 5,000 feet elevation, this premium Colombian coffee has a unique flavor profile that includes notes of milk chocolate, cashew, and apple. This coffee is a great example of what a well-produced Colombian coffee can be, making a clean and delicious cup that is drinkable any time of the day!
